EAACI Thematic Month on Pediatrics Section

This month EAACI Thematic Month focuses on Pediatrics Section.  The priorities of the EAACI Pediatrics Section Board are enhancing the visibility of EAACI as leading scientific society in Europe, increasing membership and to establish and improve educational activities in Pediatric allergology at all levels.  For these purposes, the Board has initiated collaborations with European General Pediatrician, Primary Care and Emergency Physician Societies.  All Board members are committed to a team working to achieve these goals.  One of the aims of the Pediatrics Section is to use the best resources for the Continued Education of Pediatric Allergy specialists, and to deliver an excellent standard of care for allergic children across Europe.

3rd EAACI / UEMS Knowledge Examination

The EAACI provides a European Examination for Allergology and Clinical Immunology. It will take place for the third time at the EAACI meeting 2010 in London (June 5th). The Examination / Knowledge Test takes place every year during the EAACI Congress. Although it does not replace or substitute the currently existing national examinations that are regularly held by national bodies, it helps to further increase the standard of allergology/clinical Immunology in Europe, and facilitate exchange of young people trained in Allergology and clinical Immunology in Europe. Applications are open from 01 February to 01 April 2010.

Scientific Programme Committee Coordinator

EAACI is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Scientific Programme Committee (SPC) Coordinator for the next 2 years term.  The EAACI SPC is responsible for assembling the Scientific Program for the EAACI Annual Congresses, currently the largest Allergy Congress worldwide. The SPC involves several EAACI Officers and representatives of all sections and interest groups and is chaired by the SPC Coordinator.  The SPC Coordinator is responsible for organisation and chairing of 3-4 SPC meetings, monthly teleconferences and ~1200 e-mails per year, compiling the first and second Congress announcements, finalizing the

8th EAACI-GA²LEN Immunology Winter School
The 8th EAACI & GA2LEN Immunology Winter School takes place in Grainau, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, on 11-14 February 2009, organized by the EAACI Immunology and Dermatology Sections. The school focuses on Basic Immunology Research in Allergy and Clinical Immunology, with an emphasis on innate and adaptive immunity, the regulation of the immune response, and the mechanisms of allergic inflammation.
