EAACI Pediatric Allergy and Asthma Meeting
The EAACI Section on Pediatrics is organising the EAACI Pediatric Allergy & Asthma Meeting in 12-14 November 2009, in Venice, Italy. The meeting plans to be one of the leading events of EAACI in 2009 and the premier event in the areas of pediatric allergy and asthma. Internationally renowned speakers will attend the meeting and will offer insights into the latest developments in the field of asthma management and research as well as food allergy, drug allergy and anaphylaxis in children. There will also, be practical sessions to give delegates the opportunity to benefit from hands-on training to be applied in daily clinical practice. On-site Interviews from Warsaw 2009
We went to the Warsaw 2009 congress, mingled and spotted the members of the newly appointed EAACI Executive Committee - all with a prestigious activity within the Academy so far. Prof Cezmi Akdis, the first interviewee, is the re-elected Vice President for Congresses and also the Director of the Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research in Davos. Prof Akdis elaborates on the strategy needed to plan the perfect congress and shares with us his thoughts on current ''hot'' issues in allergy and clinical immunology.
2009 EAACI Allergy Schools
High-level science by leading clinicians and researchers in a summer/autumn setting are among the main characteristics of the EAACI Alllergy Schools for 2009. The educational journey starts from Mykonos, Greece, (26-29 June) then goes to Norwich, UK, (23-25 July), follows Fischbachau, Western Bavaria, Germany (24–26 July), then Ancona, Italy (03–06 September) with the final stop being Strasbourg, France (25-28 September). Registration for all of these schools is now open. Any (or all) of these schools you choose to attend, you are guaranteed to gain a challenging educational and social networking experience!
The XXVIII EAACI Congress breaks all records, again!
More than 300 speakers from 42 countries, 7 plenary sessions, more than 80 scientific symposia, as well as Postgraduate Courses, Clinical Courses, Meet the Experts and Pro & Con sessions, were spanning during the whole period of the Congress, covering the whole area of allergology and the related fields of clinical science. In addition, an exciting social programme had been assembled to allow for a tasting of Polish tradition and culture. The numbers speak for themselves: over 6100 registered delegates, 1570 submitted abstracts and 43 exhibiting organisations/companies.
