From the EAACI Bylaws
In order to allow EAACI to influence and keep updated information on matters related to allergy and clinical immunology, it has been decided to create “Interest Groups”. An Interest Group represents an area of general interest within allergology that is not well covered by any one of the EAACI Sections

I think the interest in allergen specific immunotherapy was always one of my priorities in allergy research, since 1979, and in clinical practice. This interest was highlighted and grew due to the interaction with the best experts in this topic in the context of the former EAACI - Immunotherapy Committee. This group of allergists have released important documents pointing out the knowledge on Specific Immunotherapy.
As WAO officer and president, I promoted recommendations and , more recently, the WAO Sublingual Immunotherapy Position Paper, following what I learned in the EAACI SIT committee, where discussion and collaboration were the basis for preparing the documents.
I'm very pleased to see that the interest in SIT is rapidly growing worldwide and that a new group of young leading scientists is very active in the EAACI Immunotherapy Interest Group. The EAACI leadership is aware of having a fantastic group of motivated scientists in this Interest Group to whom I wish all the best for the most fruitful work for the progress of SIT knowledge and dissemination.
Ciao
