Each year several allergy schools were organized during summer and winter in order to stimulate the social contacts between young people interested in allergy and clinical immunology. This year, for the first time, an asthma summit was organized focusing on severe asthma and asthma exacerbations. More than 20 invited experts gave their views on contentious topics and 25 junior members were invited to attend this summit for free. However, only 11 abstracts could be accepted due to the low response rate of the juniors. Therefore, we wanted to know why so few juniors could or did participate to the asthma summit of 2011 in Athens.
